Wedding prep is moving really really slowly. Less than 11 months to my banquet, omg 10 I mean… and the only things weโve gotten done are :
๐๐ป wedding venue
๐๐ป photog and videographer
๐๐ป pre wed shoots
Moving on to what weโre in the midst of planning are :
๐ค๐ป gowns from Jessica cindy
๐ค๐ป photo booth? Is it really a need or want ๐ค
๐ค๐ปwedding stylist/florist
Nothing has been done for the rest not listed ๐
Needa stop chilling and start the ball rolling.. I managed to contact a renowned florist and the quotes were OUT OF THIS WORLD ๐ฑ I had to blink hard 3 times to ensure Iโm seeing the right number of 0โs just for stage decor. ๐๐๐
Ezra and I decided to just do a full floral timeless romantic theme for the ballroom, leaving the โfunโ theme out at the reception.
The Husband likes this colour scheme! I Guess itโs pretty predictable but yet very safe. Itโll go well with my ballroomโs chandeliers though!
For myself, im leaning towards the orangey tones though the ballroom is alr so โyellowโ looking ๐ฏ The pop of blue and orangeโs would make the decor stand out though!
Our photog actually mentioned that we should do โcoloursโ and allocate a bigger Budget for the stage since most photos will be taken there. Kinda true…. heh!
Got this off Pinterest!
I LOVE THIS ๐
Got a quote of 8k for ONLY the stage backdrop?
Quite liking this timeless looking kinda backdrop but the amount of florals is gonna cost me 10k just for the stage. Not totally using fresh flowers, itโll be mixed with artificial florals as well. ๐ซ I think itโll look great with the colour palettes that we chose though!!

NEW ZEALAND SHOOT ๐โ๏ธ๐ณ๐ง๐ปโโ๏ธ๐๐
Flowers are just mad expensive and I keep telling Ezra how I want to be a florist my next life ๐คจ
This bouquet was from my pre wedding shoot in NZ and I kept it with me for 10 days (in the car) cause it was god damn expensive haha!!!
How it looks in fact, fresh from the store!! ๐ this bouquet cost me $450 NZD btw.
Actually got a couple of fake hand bouquets from one of my work trips in Auckland but he says I NEED TO treat myself since itโs our honeymoon. After sourcing around for florists in the Christchurch region, I decided to take the plunge and splurge on this bouquet. No regrets though ๐
Hand held
Itโs a pretty big and heavy bouquet. This is the first time Ezra bought for me such an expensive bouquet without batting an eyelid. It was damn sweet of him to make sure I not only look pretty but feel good throughout the shoot… no scrimping on anything. ๐
I donโt officially have any photos with my bouquet but yea, haha this was before I got on the heli ride for my shoot ๐๐๐ hehe spot my bouquet!
Mirror shot by Ezra!
And not forgetting my flower crown which was too massive for my head! I loved the arrangements and how it matched my bouquet ๐
This post is moving towards my pre wedding shoot in nz land, so Iโll just share more ๐๐๐
So massive right!!!
I paid abt $150 for this floral crown and it was a last minute decision. I pondered Long and hard abt it, researched on the diff kinds of crowns + look and weighed out the pros and cons of a flower crown.
Yes it is mad chio and definitely brings out colours for the shoot! But then again, is it worth it for just a pre wed shoot??
I HAD NO REGRETS! โค๏ธ
#dayrebrides whom are considering to get one for their shoot or actual day, please do so!! And donโt do faux flower crowns… cause itโs freaking artificial looking and the crown somehow or rather is not as full as using real flowers!
Pinterest feels!! ๐๐ป
Mirror #selfie with the Husband before we left the makeup artist studio!
BTW if anyone is int, Iโm selling all my gowns shown here.. currently at the dry cleaners.. please email me if keen!

MAKE UP + HAIR DAY 1
My makeup and hair done on both days were at Stacey hair and makeup @ Lake Tekapo! I would highly recommend her service!!
Stacey does only hair and she out sources the makeup artist. So imagine getting BOTH hair and makeup done at the same time??
She is super nimble with her fingers and just by describing and showing her a couple of images off my phone, she constructed some of the prettiest hairstyles for me!! Mentioning that my thick hair has an advantage to hold curls, I was OKAY, WHY NOT!!
๐
I wasnโt always sure of half Updoโs cause somehow I feel that I look older and itโs kinda neither here Nor there. Either u have it done or put it up? Dk if anyone understands..
Stacey suggested a half up do cause of the dresses Iโll be wearing and also the flower crown which will help keep in place!
I was so happy with the result! Might consider doing a half do for my actual day now ๐ค
Got so excited that I made my Husband to take pics for me even before my makeup was done ๐
Iโm so annoyed with myself right now cause I canโt remember my makeup artist name……….. ughh.
Done by a sweet Japanese lady! I opt for a dark Smokey eye effect for a bolder look. Wanted something different from the usual romantic pink/brown shadows. She did an airbrushed look for the base and the blush + lipstick were on the lighter side so as my eyes can stand out more.
Ezra says somehow the makeup looks like my SQ makeup for work? Haha boys will never understand.
Closer look for makeup on the first day!
Btw I took off the floral crown for my second gown. Wore this headpiece I got in Korea during my vacation last year. If anyone is int, Iโm selling this for $12 with postage! Excellent condition

More photos!
#selfie with my man
We got caught in the rain and ended up wet hence my hair curls were loosening up! Kinda like beach waves, it was a whole other look!! Very boho-ish and what more, we were along the waters of Lake Tekapo, forest woods and mountainous areas for the shoot that day.
MAKEUP + HAIR DAY TWO
Day2 was sucha Breeze!
Gg back to Stacey hair and makeup @ Lake Tekapo, I opted for an elegant yet classic updo. Giving her absolutely zero photos, she constructed this Low bun with tousled loose stray hairs to frame my face!
See how thick my hair is! ๐
She took out some flowers from my flower crown and pinned them to the bun. Haha my $150 was def worth it.
View from the sides~
My Friend commented I look like a Korean ajuma here ๐ okay, itโs the angle okay. I hope I donโt look like an ajuma in my photos for the shoot ๐ข
Why do I look so oily here???? Haha I was bored in the car ride of 3 hours to Queenstown at that point.
Makeup wise, I requested for a slightly lighter smokey brown eye with glitter! As the gowns I wore that day were more grand and luxurious, she did a glowy base and light pink cheeks! Donโt think it can be seen in photos though
Oh yes and the coral lips!! ๐
My photog mentioned to me that he prefers bolder makeup so that it stands out in photos. I couldnโt agree more!
Wedding makeup is traditionally classic. Soft and natural makeup enhances the facial features perfectly… and that is what MOST brides go for. Yes, itโll be great for your actual day when youโre walking down the aisle and so, your Husband to be is able to recognise you still.
โ๐ป BUT not for photoshoot guys.
after doing 3 wedding shoots, I realised that makeup wise, it should be a little stronger than your Everyday look- think picture perfect not necessarily natural.
Also, with hair! The big question of having your hair up or down or half do for your wedding.
Can be a real headache but do your research. In my opinion, tube gowns looks better with hair down… unless God decides to bless me with Super slim arms + collar bones one day. Then again, weather is also crucial. Having my photoshoot done outdoors without the luxury of a MUA following me, I had to tame my own tresses every now and then. can be quite a hassle! But bo Bian if you wanna look pretty ๐
My first day of shoot, I wore two tube gowns and had my hair in a half updo. It was freaking windy and it started to rain ๐ซ luckily New Zealand isnโt humid, i still managed to get by the day and ended the shoot with loose tousled curls! Somewhat like having your hair fully down, I wonโt really recommend if youโre having your shoot outdoor without a MUA.
Had my hair in a full updo for the second day since I was wearing two strappy gowns! Yes itโs MOST ideal if youโre doing your shoot outdoors with windy conditions. I find my hair holding up really well the entire day without re-pinning or touching it. Itโs super manageable and Ezra told me to always have my hair up for shoots now cause he and the photog were so frustrated with my day 1 hair ๐๐๐๐
My two cents worth. But every bride is different so just go with your gut โค๏ธ
I canโt digress any further. This post was suppose to be abt my wedding planning and how much I need to get done but it ended off with my nz shoot hair and makeup. How did that even happen!! Haha I blame the flowers.
Ending this post with a sneaky sneak from my Husbandโs phone up on Cecil peak! ๐ป New Zealand is so amazing.
Back to my wedding planning now! Good night everyone โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ
Your flowers look really stunning even in these informal photos! I’m sure they’ll look gorgeous in the edited photos too! And Cecil Peak looks so gorgeous as a backdrop too!
